NEW CHANGES- Relaxed restrictions from 21st October 2021
20 October 2021
The lockdown in Canberra was lifted on 15th October 2021. As of 21st October 2021, non essential retail business can reopen, and click & collect restrictions will be removed.
If you, like me, are waiting to get your Kmart or Big W fix, or are in the middle of a DIY project and need supplies from Bunnings, now is your shot. 1 person per 4 sqm rules will apply for all businesses. Check individual retail websites for information on specific businesses.
Restaurants, cafes, personal services and many other venues can operate without density limits for up to 25 people and must adhere to the 1 person per 4 sqm to accommodate more than 25 people.
Students will resume campus learning from November. School buses will resume from Monday, the 25th of October, to cater to the reopening of schools in Canberra.
Refer to the new restrictions from the ACT’s Pathway Forward document.
As of 20th October 2021, the ACT has 446 active cases and 82% of Canberrans, aged 12 and above, are fully vaccinated.
