Located at the Grant Cameron Community Centre, Weston ACT, CMS host over 30 different ethnic language programs each serving their communities here in Canberra. With support from the Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF), CMS is fortunate to have the opportunity to increase its staff, member services and member support in 2019. The New Year marks an important milestone for CMS with the launch of a new logo, website, member portal, training & fundraising programs, digital radio and much, much more.

Operations and Administration Manager
Position type: 1-year, Fixed Term part-time (likelihood of extension, flexible attendance hours 15-20 hours per week), Award Clerks Level 5 rate $26 per hour plus superannuation.
Canberra Multicultural Service Community Radio (CMS) seeks an enthusiastic and motivated, self-starter to oversee station operations and administration.
CMS seeks an Operations & Administration Manager who is passionate about community radio, exhibits tenacity & resourcefulness plus an ability to work toward deadlines under minimal supervision. The Operations and Administration Manager’s duty is to oversee day-to-day station operations, program development and scheduling as well as to oversee and maintain general administration.
The Operations and Administration Manager is supported by the Development Manager, Production Assistant, Finance Officer and an Administration Assistant of Member Services & Communication (also advertised). This role will work closely with the Development Manager to identify station needs and support fundraising and development projects where applicable.
The Operations & Administration Manager will oversee work by the Production Assistant on sponsor announcement scheduling and broadcaster production needs and projects. Moreover, work with our Technical Consultants on station technology needs and contractor scheduling.
Administration Assistant, Member Services & Communication
Position type: Casual (7-10 hours per week) Clerks Award L2, year 1, $27.54 per hour plus superannuation; currently funded until June 2019.
Canberra Multicultural Service Community Radio (CMS) seeks an enthusiastic and culturally passionate, self-starting communicator to assist the Development Manager and Operations & Administration Manager in achieving results in 2019 funded projects.
CMS seeks a Member Services & Communication Administrator with a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude and passion for people and multicultural Australia. Ideally this person will be adaptable, demonstrate an ability to work within a small team and toward deadlines under minimal supervision.
The Member Services & Communication Administration Assistant will assist the Development Manager and Operations & Administration Manager in achieving results in funded projects in 2019. These include:
- Delivering improved member services to CMS’ volunteer broadcasters;
- Primary point of communication with volunteer broadcasters;
- Assisting with the training schedule, shared resources bookings (voice recorders, headsets and studio bookings);
- First point of contact for new member applications, plus general volunteer administration and communications;
- Assist in developing new communication strategy; and
- Collect listener data through the development of a new listener survey.
The Member Services & Communication Administration Assistant will be an integral staff member in building and launching CMS’ new brand, website, member portal, training program and fundraising events calendar.
